Junior Lifeguard Gavin Weissauer, future Lifeguard in training at Hermosa Beach.
I was reading the Aug. 18 paper and saw the awesomeÂ story about Aurora Behrman! I wanted to let you know that there were [other] MVPâ€™S!Â  The secondÂ being my son, Gavin!Â  He competed in the Taplin in Hermosa against all beaches from Torrance to Leo Carrillo and they got second place by just a few seconds!

Gavin Weissauer with Senior Lifeguard, Chuck, who is a legend at Will Rogers State Beach.Â He is 71 years old and still a tower lifeguard at the beach!

Jr. Life Guards is one of the best summer programs there is. This was Gavinâ€™s last summer. He started when he was 10 and is sadly aging out, but has already submittedÂ an application to try out to beÂ a beach tower lifeguard next summer!
