The TCEP Neighborhood Network (NN) team gave away 24 pairs of FRS radios to each NN coordinator who came by the booth at Pine Tree Circle on Saturday, July 11. The radios were purchased thanks to a North Topanga Canyon Fire Safe Council grant funded by Southern California Edison (SCE).

The NN team will schedule another day and time to continue to give radios to the coordinators, until every existing coordinator has them. The team is working to get the Topanga community covered with a means of communication that doesn’t require power. If a Public Safety Power Shutoff is called for, TCEP will transmit on Channel 15 a “Top of the Hour” (TOTH) report informing the public of the status of the incident.
