Lexi Pearl on “the silks” with stilts. How does she do that?!
Mothers Day has come and gone but we can’t help but mention the annual spectacle that is Lexi Pearl’s MOMentum Place. To watch her warm up the audience strutting around the stage on six-foot stilts brings the magic to come front and center when the circus takes the stage. “They fly through the air with the greatest of ease….” Airborne ballets flying on ropes, silks, and cubes, brought down the house. Dari Williams was mesmerizing in a spectacular aerial pole performance. Scot Nery, a supreme juggler with a comedy routine, and ventriloquist Karl Herlinger both captured the audience’s funnybone non-stop. The finale, a duo with Lexi and Elena Brocade on the trapeze enraptured everyone. Pre-show, as people streamed into the amphitheater, Gerald Rivers and Friends electrified the air with a drum circle (actually a semi-circle) that called people to their seats.
So, that’s where I was on Mothers Day, enjoying, as well, Patrice Winter’s brunch before the show.
