Putinā€™s Helpless Victims at Kiev Zoos
Horace, the elephant is traumatized by Russian assault.
Horace, the elephant at the Kiev Zoo has to be sedated now, because the bombs and shell-fire terrify him. His large ears pick up the sound of approaching tanks and falling missiles far beyond human abilities. Zebras are kept inside because, in a panic during an attack, they bolted into a fence and injured themselves. The giraffes are also confined indoors, distressed and confused by the windows shaking from artillery bombardments a few miles away. A lemur named Maya abandoned her newborn. Donations can be sent directly to the zoo where 50 keepers and their families remain to care for the animals as best they can. To donate to the emergency appeal for Ukrainian zoos go to the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) at: eaza.net. With this payment link, https://useplink.com/payment/ 0QGQi3DTKejUifIrdVzHx, you can choose an amount to donate via iDeal, Bancontact, credit card or PayPal. Please add ā€˜Ukraine, the name of your institution or your nameā€™ in the description box so they can acknowledge your donation. Thank you Paula LaBrot for bringing this to our attention.
