Topanga Crime Report for June 2022
Noteworthy incidents from the files of the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff’s Station for Topanga: A residential burglary was reported in the 1100 block of Mohawk Drive. Suspect(s) unknown entered via an unlocked door and stole cable boxes and a router. A commercial burglary occurred in the 100 block of South Topanga Canyon Blvd. The front glass door was shattered to gain entry. The cash register’s drawer was pried open and U.S. Currency stolen. A safe containing U.S. currency was also stolen. No suspect (s) seen or heard. A theft of two surfboards was reported in the 2000 block of Paradise Lane. The item was taken from a surfboard rack on the side of the location.
The current California drought started the week of Feb. 11, 2020, when drought conditions first appeared in nearly 10% of the state, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. By mid-May of 2021, drought conditions gripped 100% of the state. We are 846 days into this drought. California’s last drought lasted for more than 7 years, from December 2011 to March 2019.
